Are the HGV and LGV the Same?

Heavy goods vehicles are referred to as HGVs, and large goods vehicles are referred to as LGVs. HGV and LGV licences are the same under UK and EU law. Both of them will include coverage for commercial vehicles with gross weights greater than 3500 kg. This can include dropsides, tippers, fridge trucks, flatbeds, and more. The HGV Training Courses are the same as the LGV. There is no major difference between both of these categories.
